Judy’s thoughts: I think singing on that stage in Spokane will be fantastic! It’ll be wonderful to see all of our hard work pay off as we sing and tell our stories to others from Region 13. We are a wonderful group of women and this is our opportunity to show off what Harmony of the Gorge is all about.
Here’s the official traffic pattern showing that we will be starting our “traffic pattern walk” at 10:51am — and that we are scheduled to start singing at 11:40am.
Sixteen other choruses will be singing after us, the chorus that won last year, will perform before the announcements are made at the end of the day.
Eating/Shopping/Walking: Spokane in May is often lovely. Our hotels are nestled in the downtown area with restaurants, book stores, coffee shops, and the lovely Riverfront Park easily within walking distance.
Headquarters Hotel: (DoubleTree) This is where the judges stay during our weekend, and where most of the regional social events take place.
Traffic Pattern: is a list telling each performing group when and where they need to be in specific locations on their way to the stage. There is a sample at the bottom of this page.
Scores or Evaluations: Groups have a choice whether to perform for Evaluation (no scores) or for scores (either one gets feedback from the judges). Harmony of the Gorge is singing for Evaluation. The top scoring groups (quartets and choruses) can earn medals and the winning quartet and chorus earns the privilege to represent Region 13 at the next Sweet Adelines International Competition.
